Brain Training: Your Path to Recovery

Brain injuries and strokes can significantly impact cognitive abilities, making everyday tasks challenging. Brain training is designed to help you regain lost skills as much as possible and learn new strategies to overcome these difficulties.

What is Brain Training?

Brain training focuses on improving mental abilities such as:

  • Attention and concentration
  • Memory
  • Problem-solving and decision-making
  • Language and communication
  • Social skills

By targeting these areas, brain training empowers individuals to achieve a higher level of independence and improve overall quality of life.

How Does Brain Training Work? There are two main approaches to brain training:

  • Restorative therapy: This approach aims to rebuild damaged brain functions through targeted exercises and activities.
  • Compensatory strategies: This involves teaching new ways to accomplish tasks, such as using reminders or organizational tools.

Often, a combination of both approaches is most effective.

Experience the Benefits Countless individuals have experienced remarkable improvements through brain training. From regaining the ability to hold a conversation to returning to work, the benefits are life-changing.

“I am 68 now and  I used to be right-handed. I used to take for granted that I could  use both hands.  Since a stroke 4 months ago, I  have been learning  how to  be left-handed.
I find it hard but Eva encourages me and I am determined to keep  improving. I have mastered writing capital letters. I also find it  hard to read longer words but I am not giving up. The sessions with Eva have increased my  self-confidence and help  me stay focused on what I want to achieve.” (Eric,  Rickmansworth)

  1. Hi Beatrice,

thanks for you question. Are you asking me how I work with people post brain injury or stroke? I meet with them and their family for a first free non commitment session, do a brief assesment and if we decide to work together I prepare a plan of cognitive activities we need to focus on (speech, verbal fluency, working memory, etc.) I visit people in their homes or care homes for their comfort. PLease do not hesitate to ask more questions.
